Improvements and additions across the board make the 2020 GMC Acadia the most comprehensive model yet.
What's New for 2020?
If you've been holding out for the perfect time to invest in a brand new GMC Acadia, 2020 is your year. Numerous enhancements to both the overall design and technology features come to the forefront. The 2020 Acadia features a bolder exterior aesthetic, and there is an all-new trim level that adds exclusive elements such as a grille, wheels, badging, and black chrome exterior accents. An updated infotainment system, new turbocharged engine option, new nine-speed automatic transmission, new Electronic Precision Shift, and available Head-up Display round out the rest of the highlights.
Performance
The 2020 GMC Acadia can be equipped with one of three engine options, up from two over last year. The standard option is the tried and true 2.5-liter I-4 engine that is now mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission. At its zenith, this pairing gets a performance output of 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque.
Here's a breakdown of all three engine options:
- Standard – 2.5-liter I-4 – 193 horsepower, 188 pound-feet of torque
- 3.6-liter V6 – 310 horsepower, 271 pound-feet of torque
- 2.0-liter Turbocharged I-4 – 230 horsepower, 258 pound-feet of torque
The 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 is the new engine option for 2020, and it takes advantage of the company's tripower valvetrain technology. It's able to get both high and low valve lift to maximize power and balance efficiency which is augmented by the Active Fuel Management system.
Style
Experienced GMC Acadia owners and lessees will immediately notice several new styling elements. A new grille and front and rear fascias complement GMC's signature C-shaped lighting design. The most notable addition to the GMC Acadia's styling is the AT4 trim level. This trim adds an exclusive black chrome grille, unique 17-inch wheels, and all-terrain tires for an off-road-inspired design.
Technology
The latest version of the GMC infotainment system comes standard on the 2020 GMC Acadia, and it is more intelligent and intuitive than ever before. Improved voice recognition technology allows you to access its features at any moment better while the streamlined interface makes it easier to navigate by touch. The eight-inch diagonal touchscreen is crisper and allows drivers to customize their personal settings through a unique profile.
Safety
Safety is a major focus of the GMC Acadia as it comes standard with a rearview camera and Teen Driver technology, which allows parents of new drivers to set limits on audio volume and vehicle speed. There is an upgraded Digital Rear Vision Camera that comes standard on the SLT, AT4, and Denali trim level and is available on the base level SLE. An all-new Rear Camera Mirror is also available on the high-level Denali trim level, and if you equip the new available turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4, you'll automatically get an eBoost brake system.
