GMC Terrain Power Options

The GMC Terrain allows drivers to choose how much and what kind of power their SUV comes with. In fact, there are three powertrain options for this SUV, including two gas engines and one diesel. Standard power for all but the top Denali trim is a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine rated for 170 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque. While this engine is the only one available for the base model SL, the SLE and the SLT models actually have two available options:

• A turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that offers up252 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque
• A diesel-powered, turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with137 horsepower and 240 pound-feet of torque

At the top of the Terrain food chain, the Denali trim level can only be had with one engine option - the 252-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder.
